Terms & Conditions

By taking part in The Big Ride Out you are agreeing to abide by the terms and conditions of the Big Ride Out event.  Nothing in these terms and conditions changes the law of the land; it is your responsibility to ride within the law and in accordance with the Highway Code.

  1. I confirm that my motorcycle is insured, taxed, MOT’d (if appropriate) and is roadworthy and that  I hold an appropriate license to ride my motorcycle.
  2. I accept that I am taking part in the Big Ride Out at my own risk.
  3. I understand and accept The Big Ride Out is not a race and I will ride sensibly at all times, with respect for other road users, observing all speed limits and all other legal requirements.
  4. I will make myself familiar with the overall route before the event, including the start and finish points and mid-point stop.
  5. I understand and accept the organisers have no responsibility to rescue me, should my motorcycle break down.
  6. Whilst we have negotiated entry into Mallory Park Racing Circuit with the owners for the Big Ride Out participants, an individual entry into Mallory Park for each rider is at the sole and absolute discretion of Mallory Park Racing Circuit and / or their agents. For safety reasons entry into Mallory Park does not include riding on the actual track.
  7. The minimum requested donation of £10, is a donation to charity and the organisers of The Big Ride Out cannot make refunds under any circumstances.

RIDING IN A GROUP
Riding in a group can present several challenges to riders who are not used to doing so.
Set out below is some information that you may like to consider to help make riding in a group a safe but fun activity for everyone involved.

  • Above all else ride safely; make sure that you leave enough room between you and the rider or vehicle in front of you to allow you to stop in the distance you can see to be clear on your own side of the road.  If in any doubt, slow down and / or increase the distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.
  • At all times ride for yourself.  Just because the rider in front has gone round a bend at a certain speed or carried out an overtake at a certain place, it does NOT mean you should.
  • Please don’t ride in a manner that will alarm or annoy people. Let’s be considerate road users and help The Big Ride Out to make friends for motorcycling, as well as lots of money for good causes.
  • Please DO NOT attempt to block roads or junctions or to hold up traffic to allow other bikes to pass. The Big Ride Out does NOT have any permission or authority to do so. At junctions, take your turn and take your time. Just because the three bikes in front made it across does not mean you could, should or will!
  • Have a happy, safe ride, raise loads of money for the good causes, enjoy Mallory Park and get home in one piece.
